##### The Importance of Flashcards
Reading and flash cards are the two best things for vocabulary development. Once you’re at an intermediate level, though, flashcards become more and more important
Easy words that show up every sentence like “to be” or “the”, there is no need for flashcards for these because they are too common. You can’t make basic sentences without them.
Once you start getting to intermediate and advanced Vocab words, you won’t see them often enough without flashcards, say, only once every several months or more. There are words in English I haven’t seen written for years. It would obviously not be a good study method to just keep reading like normal if I wanted to learn them
Flashcards solve that problem by forcing the words into your every day, so you need to think about what level you’re learning at right now, and that should inform your decision to go more reading-heavy or more flashcards-heavy.
